History of the Mother Home

Just three days after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Provident’s board of directors, headed by CEO Agnieszka Kłos-Siddiqui, decided to create a safe place for women with children who had to flee Ukraine. The creation of the Home is a natural consequence of the company’s commitment to volunteerism and actions on behalf of women.

It took less than a month to select the facility, sign the paperwork and renovate the building. All the renovation work was done by the company’s employees as volunteers. 70 company volunteers worked more than 400 hours in the afternoons and on the weekends. The initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the Other Space Foundation and the Warsaw-Białołęka District Office.

“Yes! I help” at the Mother’s Home in numbers:

  • Overhaul time: 3 weeks
  • 70 volunteers who worked nearly 400 hours in the afternoons and weekends
  • The amount of garbage and waste taken out: 28 m3
  • Amount of paint used: 126 liters
  • More than 120 m2 of window blind material was used
  • Items purchased: 22 lamps, 63 pillows and 80 towels
  • Assembled furniture: 27 beds, including 9 bunk beds, 9 dressers and 3 closets
  • Furniture left over from the renovation of the company’s main office was also used: chairs, tables, poufs, and household appliances from the company branches: a refrigerator, two microwaves and a dishwasher.
  • Volunteers: ate 270 dinners, drank a sea of coffee and an ocean of water.

Employees of the entire International Personal Finance Group were also involved in helping. They donated nearly 70 000 pln.

Currently, the company is supporting the Mother’s Home financially by securing all costs related to rent, utilities and staff salaries (that’s about 100,000zł a month!). This allows the Home to operate without fear of closing down overnight, and our mothers can feel safe and have the stability they need to start a new life.
